Terms of Service

These terms explain what MiLatexAI provides and the basis on which you may use it. MiLatexAI is a small, independent, open-source product, so please read the availability and liability sections carefully.
The service
MiLatexAI is a connector that lets AI assistants such as Anthropic's Claude and OpenAI's ChatGPT read, edit, and compile your LaTeX projects on Overleaf, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, or an allowlisted self-hosted Git host, over Git, through the Model Context Protocol. You direct the AI in plain language, and your changes are committed and pushed to your repository's default branch.
Acceptable use
Use MiLatexAI only with projects, repositories, and accounts you are authorized to access. Do not use it to break Overleaf's, GitHub's, GitLab's, or Bitbucket's terms, to infringe others' rights, or to attempt to disrupt or defeat the security of the service. You are responsible for reviewing the changes your AI assistant makes before relying on them.
Your account and tokens
You are responsible for keeping your Git access token valid and for the actions taken under it through the connector. We encrypt the token you provide and use it only to access the projects you connect, but you remain in control of your own Overleaf, GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket account and its permissions.
Availability and "as is"
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. As an early-stage indie product, MiLatexAI may have downtime, bugs, or changes, and we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every edit will compile correctly.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MiLatexAI and its maintainers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost data or lost work, arising from your use of the service. Always keep your own copies and rely on your repository's Git history to review and revert changes.
Open-source code
The MiLatexAI source code is released under the GNU AGPL license. Your use of the hosted service is governed by these terms, while your use of the source code is additionally governed by the AGPL. You are welcome to read, audit, and self-host the code in accordance with that license.
Termination
You may stop using MiLatexAI and disconnect your projects at any time. We may suspend or end access if these terms are breached or if we need to discontinue the service, and we will make reasonable efforts to let you know.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. When we make material changes, we'll update the date above, and continued use of the service means you accept the revised terms.

Independent product and trademarks
MiLatexAI is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Overleaf or Digital Science, GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket, nor by Anthropic (Claude) or OpenAI (ChatGPT). Overleaf, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Claude, ChatGPT and other names are trademarks of their respective owners, used only to describe compatibility. You are responsible for using MiLatexAI in line with the terms of service of Overleaf, your Git host, and your AI provider, and only with projects you are authorized to access. MiLatexAI implements the open Model Context Protocol and may connect from other MCP-compatible assistants; it is tested only with Claude and ChatGPT, and other clients are not officially supported.
