Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
This policy explains, in plain language, what MiLatexAI collects, what it deliberately does not collect, and how your Git access token is protected. MiLatexAI is a small, independent product, and we try to touch as little of your data as possible.
What we collect
We collect only three things: your account email address (provided through single sign-on), your Git access token in encrypted form, and a counter of how many write-commits you've made in the current month. That is the complete list.
What we do NOT collect
We do not store the contents of your LaTeX documents, your figures, your compiled PDFs, or your project history. Files are read and edited in the moment to carry out your requests and are not retained by us afterward.
How your token is secured
Your Git access token is entered into a web form at milatexai.com/connect, never into the chat, and is encrypted at rest using authenticated encryption. It is used only to access the specific projects you connect, and is never shown in the conversation transcript.
Third parties we rely on
Sign-in is handled by WorkOS AuthKit, which authenticates you and provides your email. Hosting is on Microsoft Azure in the Canada region. Your projects live on Overleaf, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, or your own Git host, and MiLatexAI communicates with them over Git. We do not sell your data or share it beyond what these providers require to run the service.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your email, encrypted token, and commit counter only while your account is active. You can disconnect a project or ask us to delete your stored data at any time. Because we don't store your documents, disconnecting immediately ends our access to your projects.
Your rights
You may request access to the limited data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. To make a request, contact us at the address below.
